Measure and sketch the room you plan to warm. Choose the best place for your thermostat, what areas you want to warm and how many mats you will need. Heat 85-90% of open floor, staying 4-6 inches away from walls and built-ins.
Roll out the mats according to your sketch and fasten them to the subfloor using the 2-sided tape. Mount your thermostat and place the temperature sensor between any two heating wires.
Cover mats with a cement based mortar, let it cure, then install your floor covering. If you are installing tile, you can install the tile when you apply the mortar. Connect mat power leads to your thermostat in parallel.
